ISO Meet - Confluence - 23 August 2014- IWC Madras South's Day of Celebration

Confluence -First  ISO Meet 2014-2015

Confluence - First ISO Meet conducted by 10 clubs on 23rd August 2014 at Alumini Club, Chennai was a very interacting, creative and successful meet.  District ISO Nallini Olivannan with her team of ISO did an amazing job.  Creative contests, enthusiastic participants, super good MCs, perfect hosts, loads of prizes and good spread of food made our day.  One day where we jump in joy of friendship, in spirit of fighting each other in competitions, shouting and shaking legs for songs that we cherish, jumping to the tunes of dances on the stage and loving the themes of the contests ...ISO meets are the most cherished times of interaction with members from all other clubs, sharing spirit of friendship, networking, competition and enjoying the winning -  Yes, we have bagged 1st place in all of the 4 on stage contests we participated from IWC Madras South.  We also participated in Salad Dressing and Minute to Minute and were happy to cheer for those who won in those contests off stage.

What is a meet without Shanthi Kannan gorgeous smile...South club rocks with her around.  Happy Birthday ever young, ever vibrant and ever active Shanthi:-)  God bless you with good health and happiness always.

Manasi Valluri could not stop smiling, the way Uma enacted like a school girl fussing to go to school because of a bad male teacher molesting in class....we could hear people bursting out in laughter...guess uma's child voice modulation and Manasi's brilliant theme line made our skit rock and ofcourse villian played by Sandhya Subramanian was superb.... such a sport to be a brat on stage....Love u girls

World Breast Feeding Awareness Week Aug 1-Aug 7 2014- Joining hands with ICH and Academy of Peadiatrics Egmore, Chennai on 1 Aug 2014

Technically, August 1st happens to be our Charter Day.  The Day our club came into existence 52 years ago with an aim of friendship and service to the society.  What day can be best to start the year's personalized projects than today.

We are very happy to have started our first outdoor project - by providing awareness talk, nutrition supplements to nursing mothers of Government Institute of Child Health, Egmore, Chennai and also giving away prizes to mothers whose babies are healthy and on road to recovery due to breast feeding and care from mothers.

The objective was small and clear-  to make this day special.  However, God has been kind enough to make us part of the larger campaign where we got to meet 70+ upcoming doctors and serve 40 nursing mothers, along with a panel of speakers from ICH and Academy of Pediatrics.   Coverage in new media by Jaya Tv and Thanthi television was just a bonus.  The cause of spreading the goodness of breast feeding is done in the small way possible to us.  As mothers, what else can we will proud of.  As Inner Wheel Members,  we are only glad and blessed that society gives us opportunities to serve and give back our share of possibilities to our community.
