Project: Laptop to wheelchair bound specially abled Annalakshmi

 Annalakshmi, a quadriplegic para- sports person was donated with a lap top . This lap top from Elcot, derived through Rotarian Srikanth from Ford company, facilitates Annalakshmi to work from home.  We have earlier supported her in getting her SPL scooter accessories and also a wheelchair through members’ individual contributions.   Best way to support a differently abled girl on International girl child day.

Project: Books Distribution to Rainbow Homes on 11 Oct 2020

 on 11 th October, Charter member Sugandhi & President Kalarani contributed used books to the inmates of Rainbow homes which has  3 centres in Chennai 

Club Activity- Proposal from IWC Chennai Tiruvanmiyur

 A proposal from IWC Chennai Tiruvanmiyur regarding elections of honorary secretary & treasurer of Association of IWC of India. 

Proposal said : elections to these posts should be held in the same manner as IIW, Vice -President & editor of association; by all clubs through postal ballots & it should be open to all past district chairmen . 
(The existing proceedure is : only the counsel members elect from the existing district chairman vote in a secret ballot.)
Our club supported this proposal, seconded, passed as a resolution & minuted . 

Project: Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Talk - SRM Valliammai Colelge - 2 Oct 2020

 SRM VALLIAMMAI COLLEGE , CHENNAI , in association with IWC Madras South organised an Awareness talk on MENSTRUAL HYGIENE on October 2nd .PDC Radha Ranganathan spoke on the subject . The session was attended by 60 students.

Project -Rain water harvesting was completed in the second school in Purasawalkam-September 2020

 Rain water harvesting was completed in the second school in Purasawalkam, Chennai . An amount of Rs. 40,500/ was given towards this work+ Rs. 350/ for the name boards

Past Presidents Rooma & Neela participated in salad competition organised by IW District ISO . Rooma bagged a prize . 

PDC Kala Rajshekhar participated in Rangoli competetion organised by IWC Symphony & won 2nd prize . 

Club ISO Vanitha R participated in hand made Ganapathy contest organised by District 314& won a special prize.

Project- cleaning of Rain Water Harvesting wells in CHS SChool on 9 Sep 2020

  3 rain water harvesting wells existing in CHS Thiruvenkatasamy Street school  in Purasawalkam, Chennai ; chosen by IWC Madras South were cleaned to function properly through Nodal  agency with CSR funds .

Project Literacy Day celebrated at Rukmani Vidyalaya Tirvolthiyur by conducting Drawing and Oratorical competitions on 8 Sep 2020

 Literacy day celebration along with Sri Rukmani Vidyalaya in Thiruvottiyur, Chennai was held on 8 th September with school students taking part in drawing & Oratorical competetion. Best entries were judged by members & prizes given to all participants.

Project: Teachers Day Celebrations on 5th Sep 2020

 20 Arts & crafts Teachers  from various schools in & outside Chennai were honoured on Teachers day - 5th September  by displaying their excellent types of drawings & handwork using differs materials . ISO Vanitha ‘s Mother-in-law, a retired crafts teacher demonstrated making gift envelopes with unused invitation cards & also judged the best 5 entries of teachers . This was a joint project with IWC Chennai Gemini & Chennai Vriksham . Prizes were given to all participants.
