The meeting started with the coloring of the
President Shila Krishnan followed by Inner Wheel Prayer
·
Shila welcomed the EC members and invited for
their active participation in the projects and activities of the club this year
·
Project done:
o
Distribution of School Bags at Kakkum Karangal-
30 No’s given and 5 more to be given.
·
Projects Discussed & Approved
o
Computer chairs -20 to the Porur school where
we earlier distributed laptops – Estimated Budget of Rs 6000 for 20 chairs –
Project approved to be executed
o
Indira Nagar Corporation School - 5 round plastic tables for the kindergarten
school children – Estimated budget of Rs.20, 000/ - approved. Quotes for the bore well repair and rework
to be received. Vanitha/ Shila informed
that they will get a quote for the same.
Sita proposed that we do a long term rain water harvesting project in
this school
o
Footwear to Leprosy affected people in Vellore
– 50 pairs at the estimated cost of Rs 500 each agreed to be provided by the
club. Members are requested to
contribute at least for 1 pair for this project so that we can do this project
successfully. More than 1 set of
footwear also can be contributed as
wished by the members
o
Breast feeding awareness Project to be
conducted at ICH, Egmore on 7 Aug 2018.
25 sets of jabala & baby towels will be provided to children and
Dates packets to mothers.
o
Financial aid to the wheelchair marathoner D.
Annalakshmi for getting a mobility vehicle was requested for Rs.15000. Vasanthi assured to provide Rs 5000 for this
cause. Anyone else interested can also
provide
o
Independence Day Project of Flag Hoisting to be
done at NKT School, Triplicane on 15 Aug 2018 and distribution of snacks to
children is planned. Sita to confirm on
this project with the school principal

student Jamuna, to pay around Rs 25k fees per year for 2nd and 3rd
Years. Any members who can contribute
for this cause can come forward as the club has already taken up several other
tuition fee requirements.

ISO Upcoming Event: 19 Aug 2018. Members are requested to participate in large
numbers

CLCC -
Anjana and team discussed on the ‘Happy School’ and Shila expressed her
interest that we should have at least 1 happy school this year. Anjana proposed 2 schools and also asked
other EC members to check on any schools that can be converted as ‘Happy
School’.

Date fixed as 25 Aug 2018 Saturday 11 am – 1 pm
followed by Lunch
o
Venue to be finalized as ‘Patti Veedu’

Shila to check and confirm on the entertainment
for the day

The meeting ended with celebration of IPP
Gayathri’s Birthday cake cutting and fellowship followed by sumptuous potluck
lunch.
