GB 6 - a joyous Christmas Celebration            29th Dec 2025

Our club celebrated Christmas in a joyous and festive spirit during our 6th GB meeting held on 19th Dec at Vasanthi’s residence. Members were filled with Christmas cheer as we cut the cake and sang carols together. Shila beautifully decorated a lovely Christmas tree, adding to the festive ambience. The meeting concluded on a happy note with a photo session and high tea

Considering the request of Chennapuri School authorities, our Club has donated Stationery articles worth Rs.8100/- to them on day of our COV  (20.11.2025). 

The donation was handed over to the school students in the presence of  DC Devi Mathimaran.

Way to Go Chithra!

Our member Chithra was honoured with the 15th Laadli Media Award in the Web Blog – Regional (Southern) category for my blog ' Iravum Pengalum' by Population First


Population First, which is supported by the United Nations Population Fund, has been recognising journalists and creators in news media and advertising for their work on gender sensitivity since the year 2007.Population First, a non-governmental organisation, presented the 15th edition of the Laadli awards, honouring 63 print, web, and TV journalists across the Nation  at the Tata Theatre, NCPA , Mumbai on 19th November 2025.

Super Proud of you Renu!

Our member Renu Maheswari, a SEBI-certified financial advisor and founder of her financial firm “Finschlarz”, participated in a high-profile meeting chaired by Hon’ble Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman The meeting was the fourth Pre-Budget Consultation with stakeholders from the capital markets for the upcoming Union Budget 2026–27, held today in New Delhi.

It was also attended by Union Minister of State for Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudry, the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, and the Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India

Today was a truly memorable day for Inner Wheel Club of Madras South members

We had our COV and had the privilege of spending the day with our District Chairman  Devi Madimaran. The EC meeting and the GB were both completed smoothly with lunch after that. DC Devi appreciated our records and also shared a few valuable suggestions that will certainly help us grow further.

Shared a meaningful initiative! Donated newspapers to Maithree Foundation at Pallikaranai, supporting their efforts to empower individuals with special needs. They're using the newspapers to create bags and promote sustainable livelihoods. Kudos to Madras North for leading this impactful project!

 Project 18.                       Children's Day Gifts                                          18/11/25





Our club has distributed IWC branded bags containing Meri Kitab books,  stationery kits, crayons and snacks to 5th standard children of Corporation School, Teynampet, Chennai - 600018. 

We explained the significance of Meri Kitab book to the children. Our PDC Sita addressed the children offering valuable advise on facing life's challenges. All the children were thrilled and we had wonderful time creating fond memories and felt a sense of satisfaction.

Education Aid fromn Suman Karpur Memorial Fund




We donated an amount of Rs. 17000/- towards College Fees for K Parameshwai a needy student studying BCA at Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women , Madhananguppam Chennai-99.
This project was done during our 4th GB meet held on 27/10/25 from our Suman Karpur Memorial Fund

Our 4th GB Meet & Diwali Celeberation on 27/10/25



Our 4th General Body meeting was a special one, held soon after Diwali. Members looked bright and joyous in colorful festive attires, filling the venue with cheer. The atmosphere was vibrant, enhanced beautifully by the diyas and floral decorations arranged by Shiela, which added a warm festive glow.

We were delighted to have Ms. Gayathri as our guest speaker, who shared a fascinating insight into the art of traditional Kolams — their beauty, symbolism, and the hidden benefits behind this timeless practice. It was an enlightening and joyful session that perfectly complemented the festive spirit of the day.

Navathri Celebration With Sarvodhaya Girls






At SRS Sarvodhaya Girls Hostel we sponsored one full day meals - breakfast, lunch & dinner to about 85 girls in the hostel on the Navarathri festival day. 

We also donated some gently used clothes to the children, which brought them immense joy.

We had a wonderful time interacting with the girls, who sang devotional songs. It was truly a soul-enriching experience!

Pap smear Screening for Anbagam inmates

 

  

Our clubs COV Project visit marked a significant milestone as we donated Rs. 50,000 to Kalpavriksham Trust, founded by Dr. Banupriya of Privaram Cancer Research Institute. The contribution supported Pap smear screening tests for 45 mentally challenged women at "Anbagam" Rehabilitation Center. We were honored to have DC Devi Mathimaran gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, adding dignity and importance to our initiative.

Our club actively participated in the District ISO event "AMBER" on September 13, 2025, at MGR Janaki College. We supported the "Foot Reflexology - Padhanivarana" session conducted by visually challenged individuals by sponsoring ₹3,500 towards stall rent. Special thanks to PDC Sita Laxminarayana for generously sponsoring food for the participants, adding kindness to our community service.

Celebrating Teacher's day with the tiny tots at Balwadi in T.Nagar - 6/9/25





 Our Teacher's Day celebration at the Teynampet Balwadi was a huge success! We distributed essential items, including mats, buckets, mugs, and a mop, along with gifts for the teachers and helper. Each of the 22 children received a delightful tiffin box.

Educational support from Suman Karpur Fund

Our Club has been supporting Durga Devi, a deserving student at Akshaya College of Arts & Science by providing tuition fees assistance of Rs.19,250/- to pursue her education without financial burdens.

Our Club's consistent support over the past three semesters demonstrates a genuine commitment to empowering students like Durga Devi to achieve their academic goals. This kind of sponsorship can have a profound impact on a student's life, helping them build a brighter future.

Help in controlling the stray dog population


Our Club has donated Rs.5000/- in  actively supporting Animal Birth Control (ABC) surgeries for stray dogs, including kennel and transportation services. This initiative will significantly contribute to managing stray dog populations and improving their welfare.

Shivarangini an underprivileged girl from Kannagi Nahar, whose Father is totally blond and mother is partially blind has scored good marks in NEET exam and will be joining a medical College. 

Our club member Vanitha, wanted to donate a whole set of medical books that belonged to her Son, who doesn't need it any longer.

Sponsored one day meals to the seniors in  Akshaya Trust home at Palavakkam. Also distributed sarees to the senior women in the home. We had fun time with them as some of the seniors sang songs.

 Project 5 : Educational aid to a XI std student



Our club has extended support to Jayapradhan, an 11th standard student, by donating Rs. 15,000 towards his school fees. Considering his familys challenging circumstances  our contribution aims to help him continue his education.

 Project 4 : Educational Support Through Aspire Foundation (NGO)




Aspire Foundation : Our club has supported Aspire Foundation, a renowned organization empowering students through education in Dindigul District. This NGO  supports approximately 600 students across 25 villages. 

Our club has sponsored Rs. 22,000 for 11 students, providing each with a kit containing:

- School bag

- Uniform set

- Notebooks

- Essential stationery

 Project 3 : Renovation of  Rooms in Girls' Hostel


 In line with our commitment to supporting girls, our club has contributed Rs. 35,000 towards renovating a room at the All India Womens Association Girls Hostel. Past President Kalarani who has fecilitated this project is also the major sponsor.
