Project 38               Reduce Recycle and Reuse        1/05/2026

A skill development program was held at our PP Vanitha Rajagopals residence. Her Mother-in-law Mrs Indirani Swaminathan conducted the workshop and taught the skills to the girls of Swami Vivekanandhar Sevalaya & Social Development Trust. These girls will be making bags using the recycled waste material.

Our Past President Nalini Ramamurthy served lunch for the residents of Birds Old Age Home on the occasion of her parents Wedding Anniversary. Project Category: Ageing/Caring & Sharing for Senior Citizens. No. of beneficiaries: 54 

 Project 36                  Educational Support              9th May 2026

Our Club IWC- Madras South submitted an appeal requesting school fees for Sai Priya, a deserving student, studying 8th Standard in Velankanni Matriculation Higher Secondary School from Gunavathi Ramachandar Fund. An amount of Rs.12000/- was approved and a cheque for the said amount was handed over to the student.

 Project 34                                           Medical Support                        12th May 2026

Our club has supported H Srinivas, a 21 year old boy who is undergoing stage 2 treatment for Muscular Dystrophy (SMA - Spinal Muscular Atrophy). We have contributed Medicine (Oral solution) to be administered to the boy costing Rs.12500/-.

The Balwadi School, Teynampet celebrated their 2nd Annual Day on 30th April 2026. Certificates and medals were given to all the little sports stars. Happy to have distributed 25 lunch boxes to the kids. Their smiles made the day. Cost of the project Rs.5000

 Project 32 - Medical Aid to a little boy                            Date : 27 Apr 2026

When we came to know about this 7 year old boy who was undergoing Chemo theraphy and needed help many of our members volunteered to help. We have contributed Rs.30000/- towards the medical expenses of  this Child Tharun, who is undergoing treatment for blood cancer at Childs Trust Hospital, Nungambakkam. We have handed over the cheque to the boys sister at the 10th General body meet held on 27/4/26

 Project 31 - Animal Welfare. 8th Apr 2026

We have collaborated with IWC Chennai Lumina and joined their initiative to place water bowls for stray dogs during the summer months of April, May & June. President Vijayalakshmi has contributed 7 bowls for this purpose. Project Cost -Rs. 1050

9th GB Meet              Women's Day Celebration                    16/3/26

In our 9th GB held in member Anjana's House to mark Woman's day we honoured a truly remarkable woman — crochet queen Subhasri Natarajan, a Guinness World Record holder whose incredible crochet artistry has woven her name into history for displaying the largest number of crochet squares (100,581 crochet squares)

President Vijayalakshumi has handed over 2 single seater Sofas, One book stand and a foam mattress to Nirmala (Teacher)  for the Balwadi School, Teynampet.

Our Club has donated  Rs.19250/- to student K Durgadevi, (BCA, 2nd Year, Aksheyaa College of Arts & Science) towards her 2nd year-4th Semester fees. 

Our members Jothi, Veena, Sudha & Tekki have graciously donated the amount  towards this good cause.

Our Club has donated 4 sets of dress material with stitching charges to two deserving students for College use. The dress was sponsored by PDC Sita Laxminarayana and stitching charges by President Vijayalakshumi.

As a part of our ongoing project, Our club has donated Rs.100000/- (one lakh only) to Sevalaya, Kadalmangalam towards renovation of old education centre building.

Our Club has donated a sum of Rs. 5,000/- to Besant Memorial Animal Dispensary, located within the serene campus of the Theosophical Society, towards the welfare and care of abandoned and injured animals.

This small contribution is a humble step towards supporting their noble service in providing medical care, shelter, and compassion to voiceless beings

11 Feb 2026           ISO event - Day trip to Ideal Beach Resort

Our ever-enthusiastic ISO, Latha, organized a delightful picnic to Ideal Beach Resort on ECR. The members had a gala time, much to the envy of those who missed it!

It was a day filled with laughter, bonding, and joyful moments that truly brought out the child in every member.

Kudos to Latha for making this wonderful trip possible and for creating such beautiful memories

Cervical Cancer Vaccination

 

Our club has participated in the collaborative Cervical Cancer Vaccination Drive organized by Madras Central at Rotary Margaret Sidney Hospital, Nanganallur, under the auspices of Association President Jothi Mahipal. The initiative drew participation of about 27 clubs.
