Birth Centenary Commemoration at Hotel Savera on 20 Aug 2017 with his beloved daughter Shanthi Kannan of IWC Madras South and also starwalts of Rotary Club of Madras South and Rotary Club of Madras-West.   Long live the memory of great professor and a wonderful Rotarian Prof S.R. Govindarajan.   He will live in the hearts of his students and friends & family for ever.

Dist Chairman Official Visit Projects & Club Activities Review - 18 Sep 2017

The Day started with the assembly of Club members with District Chairman Mrs. Padma Preetha Sumanth at President Gayathri residence at 9 am.   The team visited and successfully completed three projects today and also chairman review of club activities

1.  Donated 42 baby chairs to Government Middle School, Porur for class 1 and 2 children who were otherwise sitting in the floor and studying.   We also honoured and presented Milton boxes to all the teachers.
2.  We also recognized the work of Balwadi and the teacher supporting Balwadi
3  Two wash stations were installed and opened today at Government Adidravidar School, Porur.Today we installed 2 Wash stations in Govt Adidravidar High.sec school Moulivakkam. It is a satisfactory project which was done in partnership with Rotary club.
4.  We also visited Prema Vasam in Gerugumbakkam where monthly diapers were given to the home housing mentally and physically  challenged children and also children who were supported by the home.  ISO Suman also provided Rs 5500 for special lunch to the children

Project Sushruthi - 8 Sep 2017

Health camp for servants and underprivileged women to utilize the opportunity and get health check up.    IWC Madras South took 5 women to this camp for check up.Today Inner Wheel District 323 conducted a wellness program"Sushruthi" for the underprivileged women at VHS Hospital Adyar. We had an awareness speech by eminent doctors and nutritionist. 80 women benefited by this program...... With District Chairman District Secretary and with a few of the women benefited ..

IWD 323, SUSHRUTHA the Health awareness and medical check up program for the under privileged was well coordinated by Dist. Secy. Kamala Selvam and ably assisted by the club Secy. and presidents at VHS Adyar today . it was a grand success.
The program started with a talk on osteoporosis and osteoarthritis by Dr. Arun followed by Cervical Cancer and Breast Cancer Awareness talks by Dr. Nazeem of VHS and Mary of Penn Nalam. The highlights were the talk on diabetes and hypertension by Dr. Shashi and Nutrition and Diet by Sadhana Rajkumar. It was very useful and informative.
76 underprivileged women got themselves screened and around 50 Inner Wheel members attended the program. It was a very fulfilling and satisfying day for all the Clubs which participated.
