Minutes of the 3rd GB  Meeting

·        The meeting started with treasurer Vasanthi coloring the President Shila Krishnan, followed by the Inner Wheel prayer.
·        District Chairman Kala Rajasekhar was nominated for the post of Association Council member.  Nomination forms were signed.
·        President Shila mentioned the projects completed in September and thanked members who participated in each project and contributed to its success.
Sita, Anjana, Rajeena, Kasthuri, Sridevi and Sunita participated in the event

o   On 12th September, District 323 Chairman Kala Rajasekhar organized a meeting at the MLA Office premises at Alwarpet for handing over IWC banners contributed by many clubs, for Traffic Rules Awareness, to be kept at traffic signals.
MLA Nataraj IPS & Greater Chennai Traffic Police honoured the meeting

o   On 21st September as part of the Chairman’s Visit Project, 50 bedsheets were donated to the inmates of  Bird Old Age Home at         Achanapakam.
                      Shanti & Shila also  donated money for  lunch for the inmates for  2
                      days .
Chairman Kalarajsekhar,  PDC Shanti and PDC Sita, Rajalakhsmi, Kalarani, Athirai,  and Jothi participated in the project

o   On September 22nd a steel drum, 30 steel tumblers,1 pedestal fan, 4 plastic buckets and 4 mugs Fwere donated to the Panchayat Primary School in Pattur. President Shila thanked Gayatri for her initiative and support  in this project.


President Shila thanked Kalarani for making this  event successful; Kasturi for her Vote of thanks; and Rajeena, Sunitha and Sridevi for their presence
o   President Shila also thanked Rooma and Olagi for their contributions to the 2nd and 3rd year fees for Yamuna, an orphan studying in MGR Janaki college


·         Projects & Requests for  October were discussed
o   Request by Shankar of Bird old Age Home for several items. Including dining table and chairs
o   Requests from the Head Master of Pattur High School for celling fans, chairs and laptops
o   Request from Corporation School, Indira Nagar for sump cleaning and  rebuilding, plus painting a classroom for kids with few artworks done on the wall with pictures of parts of body and shapes
o   Prema Vasan requested for sattu mavu for their undernourished children and specified the ingredients they would need for the mavu.

·        For October it was decided that
o    Chairs and tables would be donated to Birds Old Age Home to allow 25 inmates to dine at a time.
o   Laptops would be organized for Pattur High School. Anjana would follow up with Rotary club for this.

·        Treasurer Vasanthi mentioned that Rs 140,000 was available in the Charity Account and Rs 1,32,00 in the Club Account.
·         For the District Celebrations of Mazhalai Oli, the club has  donated Rs 3,000 and Rajalakhsmi will contribute 900 biscuit packets.
·        There was also a suggestion for a picnic in October
·        For the Chairman’s visit on November 28th it was decided that our club would introduce the District Chairman with a song instead of a standard introduction which has already happened.
·        Birthday announcements were made for Olagi  ( 18/9 ), Umashree (24/9) and Manjula ( 25/9). Since none of the birthday members were present rose plants were not  distributed.
·        The meeting was followed by a wonderful lecture and dance demonstration on Bharatnatiyam and Kuchipudi by Kalaimamani Sailaja and her students
o   Rajalakshmi introduced Sailaja
o   Our member Girija lent her melodious voice to the proceedings as an added bonus.
·        Sandhya introduced the two Special guests from  IWC Gemini  - Anuradha and Aparna.
·        The meeting adjourned at 1 pm followed by lunch.
