First Project 2017-2018- Celebrating International Yoga Day at MCN School
International Yoga day celebrated in MNC School-Habibulla Road , T-Nagar, Chennai on 21 Jun 2017
135 children participated and after the session, snacks were distributed.
Sita , Indra ,Kala Rajasekhar, Geetha , Regeena, Kasthuri, Suman, Athirai, Anjana and Gayathri were present for the project. We distributed snacks for all the children. There were about 135 children and some teachers present. Thank all our members who were present and made it successful .

Projects
Cheque for Rs.9000/- to
Bird Old Age Home was handed over by the Guest of Honour Padma Preetha Sumanth.
Cheque for Rs.25,000/- to the Engineering student Vignesh was given by the Chief Guest Gita Ramaseshan.
Cheque for Rs.15,830/- was
handed over to Nithish Kumar, 8th Standard student by Guest of
Honour Padma Preetha Sumanth.
Cheque for Rs.35,000/- was handed over to Nursing Student by Guest
of Honour Padma Preetha Sumanth.
We donated 200 books to NKT Boys School, Triplicane. The books
were sponsored by Give Smile Charitable Trust.
We thank Gayathri’s daughter Preethi for sponsoring 2 children for Asha Kiran Project.

Invocation prayer was beautifully sung by our member Girija
Ramaswamy.
Dignitaries were escorted to the Dais by Immediate Past President Rajeena Magdoom and
Incoming President Gayathri Ramadoss.
Inner wheel prayer was recited by Umasree along with all the members present.
Welcome address was presented by Rajeena Magdoom.

Introduction and Installation of the new President Gayathri Ramadoss
was done by Immediate Past President
Rajeena Magdoom.
Acceptance speech was presented by President Gayathri Ramadoss,
followed by introduction of her new team as follows :-

Pinning the new Team was done by the Incoming District Chairman
Padma Preetha Sumanth.
The outgoing secretary Gayathri Ramadoss handed over the Charter
to the new Secretary Shila Krishnan.
The Dignitaries were welcomed with a memento by Gayathri Ramadoss.
Introduction of Chief Guest Gita Ramaseshan was done by PDC Sita Laxminarayana.
Chief Guest Gita Ramaseshan, in her speech appreciated our club’s
various activities and also presented couple of her unique cases handled by her
during her tenure as Senior Advocate, Madras High Court and Former Special
Prosecutor CBI.
Introduction of Guest of Honour, Padma Preetha Sumanth was done by Past
President Rooma Bhaumik.
Guest of Honour Padma Preetha Sumanth, while delivering her
speech, appreciated our Club’s tremendous growth and wished the
new team of office bearers all the best for the coming year.
Releasing of our Club’s Roster and handing over the 1st
copy to our Charter member Sugandhi Muralidhar was done by the Incoming
District Chairman Padma Preetha Sumanth.

Past District Chairman, Shama Prasanna presented her speech,
appreciating the great achievements of
our Club during Rajeena Magdoom’s tenure as President and also wished the
incoming president Gayathri Ramadoss all the best for her term of Presidentship
in the coming year.
Felicitation by the incoming President for Rotary club of Madras
South, Rtn Magdoom Mohamed while
congratulating the incoming President Gayathri Ramadoss, wished her and her team all the best for the
coming year. He appreciated the great
achievements for our club during Rajeena
Magdoom’s tenure as President. He also came up with couple of proposals like
conducting a joint meeting with Rotary Club of Madras South and also explore
new joint projects with Rotary club.
Incoming Secretary’s report was presented by Shila Krishnan about
our club celebrating members birthdays every month with a gift of Rose Plants
and called upon 5 members celebrating birthdays in June 2017 to receive their
Rose Plants.
Vote of thanks was done by Vice President Sunita Maheshwari.
National Anthem followed by high tea.
