Installation of President Shila Krishnan 2018-19 and Team of Office Bearers- 1st GB Meeting -16 Jul 2018

Minutes of the Meeting - 1st GB Meeting - Held on 16 Jul 2018 at Gandhi Nagar Club, Adyar, Chennai- Installation of President Shila Krishnan and Office Bearers 2018-19

· The meeting started with the Invocation Prayer Song by Kalaimamani Smt Girija Ramaswamy. Secretary Shila Krishnan 2017-18 colored President Gayathri and the Inner Wheel Meeting was resumed followed by Inner Wheel Prayer by Sandhya.

· The meeting continued with welcoming the dignitaries and chief guest including District Chairman Kala Rajasekhar, Rotary PDG Rotarian Dr. Rekha Shetty of District 3230, Rotarians Rajan, Rotarian Rajasekhar and Rotary Club of Madras South President Rotarian Saravanan, Galaxy of PDCs, Presidents of other clubs, District Executive committee, International Inner Wheel Treasurer Azhagu Annamalai, Past IIW President Kamala Ramakrishnan and members of Inner Wheel, Family and Friends. Rooma and Rajeena were the MCs of the meeting.

· President Gayathri gave her Welcome Address and presented her President’s Report for the year 2017-18, followed by Secretary Report by Shila Krishnan, Treasurer Report by Rajalakshmi Narayanan, ISO Report by Suman Shrada, and CLCC Report by Kalarani Siva Subramanian. The Club officers’ report gave a glance to the wonderful year 2017-18 given by President Gayathri and her team and everyone appreciated the amazing projects done by the Club in the year.

· President Gayathri introduced the Incoming President Shila Krishnan and welcomed her to lead the Club for 2018-19 as the 56^th President of the Club.

· Outgoing President Gayathri colored Incoming President Shila Krishnan and the Installation of the New President was done by District Chairman Kala Rajasekar.

· Acceptance Speech by Shila gave a clear agenda that she has in mind to continue several of the prestigious projects done by the club over the years and assured to continue the same, and support in bring in more Happy Schools and also go by the Motto of the Year – Empower and Evolve. Shila’s acceptance speech was well received by the graceful audience

· Shila emphasized on the team work and enjoyed Introduction of the Incoming Team with the core team consisting of IPP Gayathri Ramadoss, Vice-President Kasturi, Secretary Umasree, Joint Secretary Dipanyita, Treasurer Vasanthi, ISO Sandhya, CLCC Anjana, Attendance Vanitha, Programs Rooma and Projects in charge Rajeena Magdoom. They also praised the ever supportive PDCs Shanthi and Sita. The Charter was handed over by Outgoing Secretary Shila Krishnan to Incoming Secretary Umasree.

· Installing the new team by Chairman Kala Rajasekhar was completed and team continued with the Installation Day Projects

· Educational fees for 12th Std student – cheque for Rs.19,500/- & Bags for children in Kakkum Karangal were given by DC Kala Rajasekhar

· Fees for Nursing Student – cheque for Rs.30,000/- and Cheque for Bird Old Age Home – cheque for Rs.12,500/- towards provisions for 6 months - handed over by Chief Guest PDG Dr. Rekha Shetty

· Rs.1,00,000/- was given by Shila Krishnan’s family to the Club Charity Account and started the inflow of member contributions to the club for the current year.

· Introduction of Chief Guest- PDG Dr. Rekha Shetty by Secretary Umasree Raghunath

· Chief Guest Address given by Dr. Rekha Shetty and information on her journey in Rotary and association with Inner Wheel Sisters and PDC Shanthi Kannan were well received by the audience. She gave three take aways as her concluding points to Love Yourself, Love Others and Love learning.

· Introduction of Guest of Honour District Chairman Kala Rajasekhar was given by Kalarani and a short sneak peek into the Chairman from the home club were shown in pictures.

· Address of Guest of Honour District Chairman Kala Rajasekar was inspiring and she shared the pride of being from the Madras South Club and also her journey in Inner Wheel as part of the club and now as the District Chairman.

· Induction of New Members was done by District ESO Usha Sarogi. Sunitha Balabhadruni &Sridevi Shyam Sundar were inducted as new members to the club and they were introduced by Kasthuri.

· Felicitations were done by IIW Treasurer Azhagu Annamalai who always felt part of the club & Rotary Club of Madras South Past President Rotarian R.V. Rajan.

· Secretary Announcements were made and plants were distributed to the members celebrating their birthdays in the month of July – including Athirai, Geetha, Rajeena, Anjana, and Sita Laxminarayanan and next GB date and venue will be announced shortly

· Vote of Thanks was given by Vice-President Kasthuri Somasundaram.

· The meeting concluded with the National Anthem followed by High Tea.
