Was born in the town Hay-on-Why and was of Welsh origin. She was trained as a nurse and served as such during the First World War. This triggered off a deep desire to help all ailing. Mrs. Oliver Golding, in 1923, took the first step to form an organisation which today, is considered as one of the largest women’s organisations in the world.
