Glimpses into the history of Mazhalai Oli over the years

Year 2011-  Santhanam enthralls the audiences

Year 2007

District chairman Bhamini Parthasarathy said it was in the smiles on the faces of children that true happiness lay. “This is the whole purpose of the festival and celebrations,” she said.
After a few short speeches it was time for Vivek to take the floor and he addressed the crowd in his usual style, mouthing popular dialogues from his various films and embellished his speech with the typical Vivek spontaneous wise cracks. The children knew all dialogues by heart, and kept pressing him to say their favourite one. The star comedian happily obliged with a few of his famous kaka biriyani, and eppadi iruntha naan lines.

The star however, did not leave out another characteristic of his humour and added a message for the children. “Deepavali is celebrated because Narakasuran was banished by the Lord, but today it is up to you to banish all the demons who do bad things in our society. From those who make children work, to those who take bribes, they all have to be banished and only you children can do that,” he said.

After the excitement died down and Vivek left, there was more in store for the children who were overwhelmed by the fireworks display and the presents that each received.
The shrieks and screams said it all, everybody had fun and would go home feeling content.
